i covered the All Points West Festival for SPIN magazine last weekend at Liberty State Park in Jersey City. (people have dubbed it the ‘east coast Coachella’). it was an amazing line up for all 3 days and best of all i got to shoot Radiohead, one of my favorite bands of all time. i still remember buying The Bends on cassette tape! i was also pleasantly surprised by a few bands i didn’t really know too much about - namely andrew bird, girl talk and duffy. all three put on mind blowing performances. it was my first concert/festival gig and i quickly found out it’s A LOT of work running back and forth from stage to stage. and the photo pit feels like a bit of a war zone where you’re trying to dodge camera lenses and beach balls pelting you in the back of the head all while attempting to get the perfect shot. but all in all it was an awesome experience and god dammit i had a blast!! did i mention radiohead killed it? killed it with a gun and a pack of sandwiches. two nights in a row.
